“All the cokes are the same and all the cokes are good”, said Andy Warhol once – a quote that serves as a springboard for Coke’s pre-game ad, a strong 4-Star effort on the theme of unity. Warhol’s original quote is a hymn to the idea of branding and mass marketing as a democratising force – a very different idea from today’s dreams of niches, influencers and personalisation. But it’s a powerful enough concept to make a good ad, and the animated execution helps it stand out visually too.
