For this Brazilian ad promoting their limited Mexican menu, McDonald’s created a fake telenovela, Guacamole da Paixao (Guacamole of Passion), full of the trademark melodramatic acting, dramatic close-ups and cliffhangers the genre thrives on. They even inserted an ad break within the advert – for McDonald’s, naturally. Audiences loved the avocado-based love story and it won a 5-Star rating.
