“Crunch Time” isn’t an ad that’s trying to be clever, and its insight is a basic one – when it comes to snacks, nothing beats a good handful of peanuts. The back-to-basics vibe extends to the execution – an in-your-face 30-second slab of storytelling, action, and constant branding with the company’s iconic Mr Peanut right at the centre. Special effects aside, this could have been shown at any Super Bowl for the last 30 years, and with a 4-Star response that’s no bad thing.
